Course Description

Overview

• The NPA in Furniture Making at SCQF Level 5 is a practical course designed to introduce learners to the tools and techniques used in the furniture manufacturing sector. Developing knowledge and understanding of:

Unit 1 – Workshop Practice

Unit 2 – Timber Frame

Unit 3 – Carcase Making

Unit 4 - Veneering or Furniture Drawing

Assessment

• Practical and Knowledge Assessments: The course includes both practical and knowledge assessments, conducted under closed- and open-book condition

Entry Requirements

• No formal entry requirements. However it is recommended that learners have some previous experience in Woodworking or Art or other practical based CDT subject.
